Ndombele struggled to make an impact when Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino as manager but the 24-year-old has been one of Spurs’ star performers this season. But Mourinho says that despite Ndombele’s talent, the French midfielder ‘never reaches the limit of the effort’. When asked if Hugo Lloris, Moussa Sissoko and Ndombele can help Spurs win trophies, Mourinho told Canal Plus: ‘I think they can. ‘I think when I see, for example France, and Tanguy was not playing, I don’t blame Didier [Deschamps], I blame Tanguy.
