Josh Thole left behind as Blue Jays head to Baltimore

Blue Jays knuckleballer R.A. Dickey is concerned for his friend and personal catcher Josh Thole, who was told by the club not to join them on the flight to Baltimore. The Jays will activate catcher Dioner Navarro on Monday to assume his spot on the 25-man roster. The problem for the claiming team is that waivers expire on Tuesday, still within the period of MLB’s 25-man rosters. But then, the down side is that because he was not on the 40-man before Sept. 1, Thole would be ineligible for the post-season. PILLAR HONOURS CHILD: On Saturday prior to the game, it was touching to see Blue Jays centre fielder Kevin Pillar and young Zach Woodard perform the ceremonial first pitch.
