It has been over a decade since Kenya’s national soccer team Harambee Stars won an away match in the qualifiers of the African Cup of Nations. Then, recently retired John Baraza netted the winner against Cape Verde en-route to Stars’ last appearance in the Afcon finals in 2004. Today, away in Sierra Leone, Stanley Okumbi’s charges start yet another quest to qualify for Africa’s showpiece football tournament that will be held in Cameroon in 2019. We will take our match against Sierra Leone as a do or die encounter. Olunga and either of Ulinzi Stars’ Stephen Waruru or Kariobangi Sharks’ Masoud Juma will lead the search for goals.
