Julian Castro joins McDonald's strikers in North Carolina

Democratic presidential contender Julian Castro joined a march to a McDonald's restaurant in North Carolina on Thursday to draw attention to workers' efforts to raise the minimum wage and secure other protections. Castro, the former secretary of Housing and Urban Development and former San Antonio mayor, marched with roughly 200 activists, minimum wage workers and union representatives from a park in Durham to a nearby McDonald's. He added that his campaign staff won't patronize McDonald's until workers' demands for higher wages, a union and sexual harassment protections are met. During Sanders' video town hall, the Vermont senator said that if he is elected president, working people around the country will make a $15 minimum wage. "I don't really see anyone fighting for minimum wage like the people I see here," she said.
