Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) also weighed 164 pounds. Chavez said making weight should serve as the leading indicator of his preparedness for this career-defining bout. “If Canelo looks really good, there’s a good chance the fight happens,” Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler said.
