July Charter referendum to be held on same day as general election, says Chief Advisor YunusChief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has announced that the referendum to implement the July National Charter and the parliamentary election will be held on the same day in February next year. That is, the referendum will be held on the same day as the national elections, in the first half of February. The recommendation stated that the referendum could be held before the parliamentary elections or on the same day as the parliamentary elections after the order was issued. The BNP and some like-minded parties took a stand in favour of holding the referendum on the same day as the general election. On Thursday, the Advisory Council in a meeting chaired by Chief Advisor Yunus at his office approved the July National Charter (Constitutional Reform) Implementation Order, 2025.
