Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has defended himself against claims he is an absentee legislator who concentrates more on national politics at the expense of his constituents. But in a statement on Sunday, Junet downplayed claims of being an absentee MP. He cited the recent advertisement for the tarmacking of Ngege-Mapera-Rabuor and Kawa-Osingo-Nyaduong’ roads, promising that the road network in Suna East will be 70 per cent tarmac. But with Junet’s closeness with ODM leader Raila, the aspirants are considering vying on different party tickets or as independent candidates. “Most aspirants fear that with Junet still in Suna East and his position in the party, getting a free and fair nomination is null and void.
