The jury began deliberations Wednesday in the trial of a former high-ranking New York Police Department official who Manhattan federal prosecutors say accepted bribes—including flights, home improvements and sex from a prostitute—from two Brooklyn businessmen. In exchange for those gifts, prosecutors say the two businessmen received police escorts, expedited gun license applications, and assistance with parking tickets.
