Mark Rumboldt left the courtroom in shackles with a puzzled look on his face, moments after an 11-person jury sent mixed messages of guilt and innocence. A courtroom filled mostly with his supporters let out a sigh of relief as the jury foreperson stood and announced they found Rumboldt not guilty of attempting to murder his now-estranged wife. But seconds later, there were bursts of tears as it was announced Rumboldt was found guilty of administering a noxious substance — or simply put, drugging his wife. Rumboldt, who showed little emotion on his face during the verdict, bulged his eyes wide as the judge ordered him into custody.
