A 42-year-old man found guilty of child rape will be sentenced in the Timaru District Court next year. A former Oamaru man was found guilty of raping a girl over a six-year period after a four-day trial in the Timaru District Court last week. The 42-year-old Dunedin man, who has name suppression, was found guilty of 11 of the 14 charges he was facing by a jury of six men and six women. He will be sentenced on four counts of rape, six of unlawful sexual connection, and doing an indecent act. Three further counts of unlawful sexual connection received a not guilty verdict.
