By Amos HarrisResidents and traditional leaders of Smith Town, Gbarpolu County, have leveled serious allegations against Liberia’s Ministry of Justice, accusing the body of deliberately undermining a Supreme Court mandate. According to community leaders, a definitive mandate issued by the Supreme Court has remained unenforced for an extended period. Despite the high court’s ruling, the Ministry of Justice has reportedly failed to provide a clear legal explanation for the delay. Community advocates argue that these funds are desperately needed to improve education, healthcare, and basic social services in Smith Town and its neighboring villages. At a time when the administration is striving to project an image of accountability and institutional integrity, the defiance of a Supreme Court order stands as a significant contradiction.
