A Justice of the Peace has been stripped of her title and sent to prison for helping to finance a methamphetamine ring her son ran while serving jail time. Taylor, 70, was one of four defendants sentenced for their role in the supply ring run by her 47-year-old son Brian Paul Taylor while he was an inmate at Manawatū Prison. He set up the methamphetamine ring in 2016 purely to make money, using people outside prison to take care of his work. Meihana was again sentenced to 12 months' home detention on Tuesday, with the judge noting Meihana's rehabilitation from methamphetamine addiction.
