Justin, Ling Ching bow out as Malaysia's challenge ends in Orleans

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s challenge at the Orleans Masters came to an end with none of the players advancing to the quarter-finals at the Palais des Sports in France. On Thursday (March 19), Justin Hoh fell short at a crucial stage, going down 21-16, 17-21, 20-22 to Taiwan’s Su Li-yang in the men's singles second round match. The 21-year-old trailed 11-17 in the decider and raised hopes by levelling at 19-19, but could not close out the match. In the women’s singles, Wong Ling Ching put up a strong fight in the opening game before losing 22-24, 13-21 to India’s Malvika Bansod in 51 minutes. The campaign ended early for Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing in the men’s doubles as they went down 17-21, 13-21 in just 32 minutes to Denmark’s Christian Faust Kjaer-Rasmus Kjaer in the second round.
