Godwin Isenyo, KadunaThe District Head of Birnin – Gwari, Kaduna State, Alhaji Yahaya Yusuf-Abubakar, on Friday escaped from his abductors. Gunmen in military uniform on December 18 kidnapped Yusuf-Abubakar and a former Education Secretary at Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa, along the Birnin -Gwari Expressway in Birnin-Gwari. SATURDAY PUNCH learnt that the hoodlums freed the education secretary after N3.5m was allegedly paid them, they held on to the district head, asking for more money before they could release him. It was learnt that Yusuf-Abubakar, however, escaped from his captors less than 48 hours after Musa was released. “He escaped from at Sabon Birni village behind the Kaduna airport around 5.30am and sent an urgent message to a close associate to pick him up.”Copyright PUNCH.
