After his convictions were twice overturned police targeted him in an undercover operation where they posed as a motorcycle gang. He confessed to the crime to undercover officers who were pretending to be gangsters. "I'm very honest, I'm telling you I did things, bad thing, but I never did that thing, the murder thing," Reddy told them.
