The Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress. Yusuf defected to the ruling party on Monday at the Coronation Hall of the Kano Government House. “I, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State, alongside my cabinet, 22 out of 24 members of the State House of Assembly and all 44 local government chairmen, have agreed to align ourselves with the ruling party, the APC,” he stated. Earlier, the APC State Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, described the governor’s decision as being in the best interest of Kano State, pledging the party’s full support and loyalty to Yusuf’s administration. Recall that Yusuf was elected governor on the platform of the NNPP in 2023 before defecting alongside several members of the Kano State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives.
