TOPLINERapper turned presidential candidate Kanye West can add Mississippi to the list of states in which he will appear on the ballot, after a string of failures to qualify either due to missed deadlines or failing to amass enough valid signatures. Kanye West attends the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on February 09, 2020 in Beverly Hills, ... [+] California. To qualify in Mississippi, West was required to pay a $2,500 fee to the Secretary of State’s Office and get the signatures of at least 1,000 Mississippi voters. West has made the ballot in 12 states: Idaho, Minnesota, Tennessee, Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Vermont, Mississippi, Louisiana, Utah, Kentucky. Those states give West no mathematical chance at winning the 270 electoral votes necessary to become president because he missed the filing deadline in key states.
