This is Karen Gillan, surrounded by flashbulbs, going full-tilt boogie on the red carpet in an edgy designer dress. But there is nothing embarrassing or accidental about Karen’s so-called wardrobe malfunction at the premiere of her comedy-drama Late Bloomers in Austin, Texas. The author sets a breezy pace with an observant and funny script that includes some wonderful scenes for the leading ladies, who first meet up as patients being treated in A&E. The darkly funny script, something of an odd couple's bicycle built for two, touches on themes familiar in movies such as Driving Miss Daisy and Harold and Maude. Late Bloomers is set for a summer release in cinemas.
