Companies across sectors saw stock prices spike. Infosys’ scrip closed 1.6 per cent higher at ₹1,258.75 and Wipro closed 0.81 per cent higher at ₹386.35. Similarly, pharma major Biocon’s scrip closed 0.96 per cent higher at ₹247.45, real estate company Sobha closed 11.54 per cent higher at ₹552.85, spirits major United Spirits closed 1.31 per cent higher at ₹806. Public sector undertakings (PSUs) BEL and BEML closed higher too. While BEL closed 0.37 per cent higher at ₹107.70, BEML closed 2.46 per cent higher at ₹1,410.
