(Tamaki image courtesy of the artist's blog)Canadian comic creators Kate Beaton and Jillian Tamaki both won Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. Adrian Tomine won Best Short Story for "Killing and Dying," published in Optic Nerve #14 by Drawn & Quarterly. Tamaki won Best Publication for Teens (ages 13-17) for her hilarious book SuperMutant Magic Academy. This is the second year in a row that Tamaki has taken an Eisner Award. Beaton's Step Aside, Pops won Best Humor Publication.
