Kearney set to coach in African communities

Warren Kearney hopes having fun on the curling rink will help him take part in a rugby experience in Africa next year. Kearney, New Zealand Rugby southern region women's development officer, is heading to Africa next year for three months as part of a Bhubesi Pride Charitable Foundation project. The foundation was set up in 2011 with the intention of getting into local communities in Africa to support rugby and aid development in schools. Kearney (32) will spend the second half of the six months of the foundation's project working in the countries. Bhubesi Pride was founded by former African resident Richard Bennett, who moved to the United Kingdom when he was 14.
