Keely Hodgkinson and other British female athletes 'told to pay for their own £185-a-go sex tests' aimed at stopping transgender competitors

British female track and field athletes including Keely Hodgkinson have reportedly been told to pay for their own £185 obligatory sex tests if they wish to compete on the international stage. World Athletics made it compulsory last year for female athletes to take a once-in-a-lifetime SRY gene test to take part in major championships or Diamond League events. World Athletics provided around £75 per athlete to national federations for the World Championships in Tokyo in September. 'We are saying, at elite level, for you to compete in the female category, you have to be biologically female. It was always very clear to me and the World Athletics Council that gender cannot trump biology.'
