Kenny Bednarek has admitted that watching Sha'Carri Richardson, Melissa Jefferson, and Twanisha Terry qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics motivated him to dig deep for a podium finish in the men's 100m final. Bednarek trains at the Star Athletics Club under tutelage of Dennis Mitchell who also coaches the trio. The 25-year-old disclosed that watching the trio making history was motivation enough for him to dig deep for a podium place in the men’s 100m final. Bednarek finished second behind triple world champion Noah Lyles who equaled his personal best time of 9.83. Bednarek, finishing second, clocked a personal best time of 9.87 as Olympic Games 100m silver medallist clocked 9.88 to cross the finish line.
