UNFPA programmes in Kenya cover family planning, antenatal care, HIV prevention for young people, pregnancy prevention, and safe reproductive health services. Kenya’s progress in sexual and reproductive health is facing a major challenge after the United States (US) announced a sharp reduction in support for international agencies, including those operating in the country. UNFPA programmes in Kenya cover family planning, antenatal care, HIV prevention for young people, pregnancy prevention, and safe reproductive health services. Its flagship initiative, the Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Development Impact Bond, funded with $10.1 million (Sh1.3 billion), operates in 10 counties most affected by reproductive health challenges, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and Homa Bay. The programme uses a digital platform called Tiko to connect adolescent girls with free and youth-friendly reproductive health services.
