Kenya : KRA intercepts Sh267 million worth of fake currency at JKIA

The Kenya Revenue Authority said on Monday the fake currency was in bundles of Euros, concealed in trouser linings at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). "The money was being ferried from Nairobi to Dubai by Abdi Osman a Norwegian and Mohamed Hassan Eltahir ElHassan, a Sudanese. The two, who are now in police custody, had the money packed in two suitcases concealed in trouser linings," the authority said in a statement. The exhibits are held at the customs warehouse awaiting issuance of seizure notice and subsequent handover to the police for investigations.
