Kenya Power has hailed the courts following the jailing of a man accused of vandalising a transformer. Kibera law courts sentenced Stanley Gitau to 15 years in jail with the option of a Sh6 million fine. The electricity company said three other suspects were jailed 10 years with the option of Sh5 million fines each. Gitau, said to be a repeat offender, was imprisoned alongside Stephene Kagai, Julius Gichuki and James Mburu. On September 7, 2017, Samuel Irungu and Stephen Kinyanjui were arrested at Kiangage village, Muranga for vandalising a power line.
