Steven Gerrard talks with Jurgen Klopp (Photo: Andrew Powell/Liverpool FC via Getty)Steven Gerrard has opened the door for a return to Anfield after deciding to turn down the chance to manage MK Dons. The Liverpool legend was in serious talks with the League One club to succeed sacked Karl Robinson. But he has decided to look elsewhere and could be in line for a coaching role at his former club, one he could combine with a position in the new-look England set-up. Manager Jurgen Klopp has always said he would welcome Gerrard back and it is understood that the club are ready to hold informal talks about their star player returning. It seems likely the club would welcome him into a role within their much-admired academy, which would dovetail nicely with any position offered by the FA.
