Muthoni who was arrested in connection with the murder of Mwangi, tasted freedom briefly after Murang'a Principal Magistrate Mr Antony Mwicigi released her on a Sh200, 000 cash bail. After losing the lower court's battle, the Director of Public Prosecutions moved to the High Court in the afternoon where he succeeded in having Muthoni remanded. READ MOREDuring the afternoon session, there was drama outside the court as police briefly detained Muthoni's lawyer Bernard Muriuki Kanyiri following a scuffle. In the magistrate's court in the morning, Muthoni had been directed to report daily at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation in Nairobi.
