Fred Leparan will be jailed for 35 years after being found guilty of child trafficking. He was jailed on three grounds: three years for conspiring to traffic children, 30 years for trafficking three children and two years for child negligence. The duo was at the centre of a BBC investigative work out of which they were exposed for operating a child trafficking racket. Alfred Mutua, who was at the helm of the Foreign and Diaspora Affairs docket, was moved to the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife. The school administration in Ikolomani closed the school after students grew restless over the malady that left at least 80 students hospitalised.
