Kenya's Covid positivity rate at 9.7% after 383 new cases


Kenya on Saturday recorded 383 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, from a sample size of 3, 930, with the positivity rate now at 9.7%. This now brings the total number of positive cases to 172,325, and the cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,830,686. Of these, 295,486 are aged 58 years and above, 277,776 are health workers, 166,199 are teachers, while 82,720 are security officers. Of these 4, 046 are health workers, 709 are aged 58 years and above, 445 teachers, 321 security officers while 1,101 fall under others category. Homa Bay and Nyamira have 12 cases each, Bomet and Nakuru 10 cases each, Bungoma and Vihiga five cases, Machakos four, Nyeri, Mandera and Makueni three cases each.
