The Tigers, led by Mushfiqur Rahim, played brilliant cricket more often than not but failed to overcome the all-important final hurdle. Their top-order batsmen were in red hot form, particularly Mushfiq and Rilee Rossouw, but unfortunately for Khulna, neither was able to guide their side home in the final against Rajshahi Royals. This was the first time Mushfiq played in a BPL final and after the heartache has to wait a few more days yet to get a coveted champion’s medal. Rossouw and Mushfiq finished as the top two run-scorers with 495 and 491 runs under their belt respectively in 14 innings. Overall, it was a good tournament for the Tigers but they just fell short in the grand finale.
