Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero. PHOTO | FILENairobi Governor Evans Kidero is facing increasing online pressure from the public to renovate the City Stadium. Courtesy of the hashtag #KideroRepairCityStadium, concerned citizens and football lovers have taken to Facebook and Twitter to share their despair over the current state of the dilapidated venue. So poor is the current state of City Stadium, that both Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) management have banned any form of top flight football games from being staged at the facility. Until then the stadium, which is the oldest in Nairobi, was home to SportPesa Premier League giants Gor Mahia, whose fans had christened the venue Tok Komwanda.
