North Korea supremo Kim Jong-un's wife has finally reappeared in public after more than a year. Ri Sol-ju attended a concert commemorating the birthday of late leader Kim Jong-il on Tuesday night along with her husband, according to state media. One North Korean expert said her withdrawal from public life may have been down to Covid and to avoid possible infection, although North Korea has kept details of its pandemic struggle fiercely private. Ri ha often joined Kim in public, riding white horses with him up Mount Paekdu, considered one of the country's most sacred mountains, in 2019. Photos released by state media also showed attendees at the concert, including Kim and Ri, seated closely together without any face masks.
