There are growing costs of the 340B program for employers and workers, despite misconceptions that the program does not cost anyone anything, says Kimberly Westrich, MA, of the National Pharmaceutical Council. This additional research that the National Pharmaceutical Council did with IQVIA looks at potential costs to employers and their workers. There's this misguided impression that the 340B program is essentially free to everyone and it's not impacting anyone other than pharmaceutical manufacturers. So, it's time for us to retire that misguided notion that the 340B program does not cost anyone anything. In addition to sharing revenue, there is also a shift of the employers workers into the hospital site of care.
