King urges Malaysians to take precautions as heatwave persists until June

PUTRAJAYA: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has urged Malaysians to take precautionary measures as hot weather conditions continue to affect the country, with the situation expected to persist until early or mid-June. In a statement, His Majesty emphasised the importance of safeguarding health by limiting prolonged outdoor activities and ensuring adequate hydration. “Reduce exposure to extreme heat and drink sufficient water to maintain good health,” His Majesty said in a social media post on Thursday (March 26). The King also called on the Education Ministry to take the matter seriously and ensure that the well-being of schoolchildren and students is not compromised amid the ongoing heatwave. The King further cautioned that vulnerable groups, including the elderly, children and those with chronic illnesses, should avoid exposure to extreme heat to prevent health complications.
