The Kirinyaga government has launched a door-to-door NHIF registration drive to improve access to healthcare. “The registration drive will be carried out by community health volunteers who will visit every household to ensure everybody is registered with the NHIF,” she said. Waiguru said her administration is keen to reform the health sector and will ensure services are available. A registration drive for the Linda Mama programme is ongoing. According to the latest statistics, NHIF national coverage has increased from 3.8 million in 2013 to 7.2 million currently.
