Alwar: Kotputli police busted an international cyber fraud gang operating under the pretext of sending people abroad and arrested one accused Monday. Police said the gang carried out cyber fraud through Chinese cyber gang call centres in Cambodia.Aimed at curbing rising cases of cyber fraud in Kotputli-Behror district, the police arrested an accused who was sending people abroad on the pretext of jobs in Cambodia. Kotputli-Behror Superintendent of Police Devendra Kumar told the media that they had arrested Suresh Sain, 43, a resident of Rampur Bansur, in the case.The SP told the media that Chinese cyber gang was targeting Indian citizens from Cambodia through digital arrest, fake websites and investment fraud. The identification process of youths sent abroad is on, and police said they are investigating the international network and financial transactions.Devendra Kumar said the district had been continuously receiving complaints of online fraud, fake calls, OTP fraud, fraud through social media, misuse of bank accounts and cheating people through digital means. Mobile phones, SIM cards, bank accounts and other electronic devices used in fraud are being seized and investigated.
