Kukup Ferry Terminal gridlocked as 12,000 Indonesians head home for holidays


PONTIAN: Some 12,000 Indonesians are expected to return to their country to celebrate Aidilfiri via the Kukup International Ferry Terminal (Kukup Ferry) here over the next few days. He said that until Thursday, more than 7,000 Indonesians have departed from the terminal. "In fact today, since the first ferry departed at 6.45am, more than 1,800 passengers passed through the terminal. Even though it is crowded, we could see that everything was going smoothly and everybody who wanted to return home managed to board their respective ferries. Also present were the embassy's consul Yusron B Ambari and Human Resources attaché Mustafa Kamal; Marine Department southern region head harbourmaster Azman Mohd Ali; Kukup Ferry managing director Rasiman Musiran; and chief operating officer Wahib Musiran.
