Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama were yesterday locked up at Pangani police station over allegations of hate speech. Kuria was the first to be arrested by Special Crimes Prevention Unit police at a hotel in Kilimani around midday. He was taken to Pangani before being moved moved to DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road for interrogation. Muthama faces allegations of using derogatory language in his address at a NASA rally in Isinya on Sunday. In June last year, Kuria and Muthama were among eight politicians nicknamed the “Pangani Six” who were arested and locked up at the Pangani police station for similar allegations of hate speech.
