Despite the length of the SAG-AFTRA strike, a new poll from the Los Angeles Times shows that support for the actors’ strike remains by the American public remains much higher than for Hollywood studios, networks, and streaming platforms. That’s a slight decline from the 38% who said they supported the strike in July, but still easily the largest single group of people polled. Only 7% said they supported the studios over SAG-AFTRA. a number that remains unchanged from the July poll. At issue are residual payments to actors — SAG-AFTRA has asked for $500 million.
