The Governor of Lagos State and Visitor to Lagos State University, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appointed the Alara of Ilara, Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, as the sixth Chancellor of the institution. Ogunsanwo succeeds Gbolahan Elias, who served as the fifth Chancellor of the university. The statement read, “The Governor of Lagos State and Visitor to Lagos State University, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has appointed His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara, as the 6th Chancellor of Lagos State University. “This appointment follows the completion of the tenure of Prof Gbolahan Elias (SAN), who served meritoriously as the fifth Chancellor of the University. This is as the statement conveyed the management’s appreciation of Elias for his meritorious service during his tenure as Chancellor.
