Members of the Liberia Coalition of Human Rights Defenders (LICHRD) over the weekend elected new corps of officers to lead the organization for the next two years. The board is the highest decision–making body of the organization and members of the board are elected by officials from member organizations. The board members work in the interest of the organization. During the elections, the winner with the highest votes immediately becomes the chairman of the Board. Also Speaking, the outgoing chairman of LICHRD, Dwana Kingsley called on the new board members to ensure the organization continues to work effectively in defending the rights of others.
