The suspected cannabis was seized in October 2019 and sent to Forensic Science Ireland, which is based at Garda Headquarters in Dublin's Phoenix Park, for analysis. However, Sgt McGarrity asked Judge Dempsey not to dismiss the case - 'as it is beyond our control'. However, Judge Dempsey said: 'I am striking the matter out.'
