Lakers ‘heartbroken’ over death of 2011 draft pick at age 33
Former NBA player Darius Morris died Saturday at the age of 33. Morris was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft. “We are heartbroken by the passing of Darius Morris,” the organization posted on X, formerly Twitter, with a purple heart and a photo of Morris celebrating on the court. Morris spent two seasons with the Lakers between the pro club and its G-League affiliate, before signing with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2013.
