Los Angeles Lakers star Deandre Ayton was reportedly detained at an airport in his native Bahamas as authorities searched his bags for marijuana. As first reported by TMZ, Ayton was released after the search failed to uncover any contraband. The Central Division of the Royal Bahamas Police Force claimed to TMZ that Ayton was seen smoking marijuana on the premises, which prompted the search of his belongings. Francis added that Ayton was en route back to LA to join the Lakers as they return from the All-Star break. Ayton signed with the Lakers, but has averaged a career low 13.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game over his 46 appearances, all starts.
