JAIPUR/ ALWARSacked IPL commissioner Lalit Modi’s son Ruchir Modi was elected president of the Alwar District Cricket Association (ADCA) on August 22, said Rajasthan Cricket Association treasurer, Pawan Goyal, but some members of the local body have disputed that claim. Goyal, who is also secretary of the Alwar body, said Modi’s son bought land in the district to become eligible for election. But three life members of the Alwar association told HT that the elections never took place. There’s been no comment from him or his father about the ADCA election. RCA secretary Sumendra Tiwari said: “We now have a weapon against BCCI ban”, hinting at Ruchir Modi taking over the state body soon.
