Western car makers need a sense of yin and yang to operate in China. While sales boomed, they had to deal with copycats and ownership restrictions. Now that there are signs of governance reforms, sales are stalling. Jaguar Land Rover on Friday announced a legal victory over a Chinese competitor for intellectual-property theft in a Beijing court. Five unique elements of the Range Rover Evoque were copied directly in the Landwind X7 built by Jiangling Motors Corp., the court found.
