The incident occurred at a house, owned by one Zafar Imam, in Karigorpara of ward 8 in the Chougachha municipality. Police arrested three after the tortured woman’s husband filed a case in this connection with Chougachha police station yesterday. The arrested are Zafar Imam’s wife, Sultana Razia, 45, and their two daughters, Jannat Ara Imam, 24, and Sumaiya Farzana, 20. Confirming the matter, Chougachha police station Officer-in-Charge Rifat Khan Rajib said the arrested were sent to court yesterday afternoon. On January 26, in a similar incident in Chougachha upazila’s Salua Purbapara, seven were arrested for cutting off a woman’s hair after beating her up.
