Tenants signing new agreements paid an average of £910 a month, which was a fall of 0.8 per cent compared with a month earlier. The pace of growth in rental prices has been declining since July. HomeLet, which verifies 35,000 tenants’ references a month for 3,000 letting agencies in the UK, said this suggested that Britain was reaching “overall affordability thresholds”.
