Scots hoping that the last weekend of summer might offer some salvation after a damp few months are in for disappointment with yellow weather warnings issued for thunderstorms. The Met Office has warned that eastern parts of the country could see up to four centimeters of rainfall in just a few hours on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning - and some of it could even fall as hail. And experts are warning that lightning strikes could cause damage to buildings as slow-moving downpours move through. Meteorologists say driving conditions will likely become difficult with spray and standing water or hail leading to longer journey times.
